But as has often been the case (see Matrix), hollywood takes an incredibly important story that needs to be told, and gets cheap and half-ass and yes cliche at key moments. From the braveheart speech by Jake half-way into the movie on through the "last samurai" like leadership of the new guy, the movie betrays and almost mocks what it had spent the previous hour so eloquently and ingeniously portraying. as to the review: well written and thanks for taking the time. My thought is that primitivists are very honest with their own philosophy when they conclude that art is in itself problematic....but that doesn't make it a correct conclusion in my eyes. Art is however very sacred and delicate as life itself is....and if we lose sight of that, as Cameron did at key moments, the art abuses itself and the life it is intended to illuminate. as to the movie:

My favourite part is the history of pacifism not being able to combat aggression. I am going to see the film tonight but I really enjoyed reading this. The reviewer, White, I think he is a kind of troll. He dislikes most movies and the list of movies he actually likes( according to the reviews he has done) is laughable.
